Authorities are appealing for information after a silent soldier memorial outside Wrexham Memorial Hall in Bodhyfryd was vandalized. The damage was reported on July 11th, but the exact time and date of the incident are currently unknown.
District Support Sergeant Rhian Hughes expressed disappointment over the act of vandalism. It is disappointing that someone would see fit to vandalize a memorial which serves as a reminder of those who have given their lives to protect others,” Hughes said.
The police have launched an investigation into what they described as “disrespectable behavior” and are seeking assistance from the public to identify the perpetrators. Hughes added, “We have launched an investigation into this disrespectful behaviour, and I would ask anyone with information about the damage to contact us.
The police are also requesting anyone with footage of the area that might help determine when the damage occurred to come forward.
Anyone with information that could assist the investigation is urged to contact the police through their website, by calling 101, or anonymously via Crimestoppers, quoting reference 24000607424.
