Kent Fire and Rescue Service swiftly responded to reports of a van engulfed in flames on the A249 near Stockbury, Maidstone.
Two fire engines promptly arrived at the scene on the Maidstone-bound carriageway, where firefighters wearing breathing apparatus swiftly worked to extinguish the fire using a compressed air foam system (CAFs).
While the situation was brought under control, one individual was assessed by firefighters as a precaution due to minor smoke inhalation. Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported.
As a safety measure, the affected carriageway was temporarily closed to allow firefighters to work effectively and ensure the safety of all road users. However, it has since been reopened.
The exact cause of the fire remains unknown but is currently believed to be accidental.
