An urgent search operation is underway for a man reported missing in the sea off Bournemouth Beach. Emergency services rushed to the scene in Dorset after receiving reports of a person in the water this evening.
The Maritime and Coastguard Agency stated that HM Coastguard is currently coordinating the search for a male individual.
The Poole and Southbourne Coastguard Rescue Teams, along with a Coastguard helicopter, a Poole RNLI lifeboat, and Dorset Police, are actively involved in the search. Local news reports indicate that a helicopter is hovering over the area, while RNLI jet skis and volunteers comb the seafront.
This incident comes as forecasters report temperatures exceeding 28°C in parts of the UK, making it the hottest day of the year so far.
Last year, tragedy struck when a 12-year-old girl and a 17-year-old boy lost their lives after encountering difficulties in the water off Bournemouth Beach.
