Concerned family members have confirmed that 12 hours after Olivia went missing from the village of Barnham near Canterbury that officers in Kent have transferred the case to the Met Police.
This follows new information of a confirmed sighting of the 12 years girl at a busy mainline London Station just after lunchtime. It is understood that the missing girl doesn’t have a mobile-phone or any connections with the London area.
Kent Police issued an appeal for the missing twelve-year-old just after 6pm on Wednesday expressing concerns for her welfare.
In their appeal, they said information is sought to help find a girl who has been reported missing from Barham near #Canterbury.
Olivia Sands was last seen in the village at around 10am on Wednesday 17 February 2021 and officers are concerned for her welfare. The 12-year-old is around four feet, five inches tall, of thin build and wears glasses.
She is believed to have been wearing a black, padded coat with a fur-trimmed hood when she was last seen.
A search has taken place in and around the village off Barnham involving Police, a police tracker dog. Kent fire and rescue and their drone team were also called to assist officers. A helicopter has also carried out a search of the banks of the Nailbourne river from overhead. The village hall now remains in darkness after new information was received.
The unnamed family member said Olivia is on CCTV at St Pancras train station around lunchtime today!

The police appeal has been widely circulated on social media, with many expressing concern and hope for her safe return.
A spokesman for the Met Police confirmed that they are assisting officers from Kent with the search Olivia was seen on CCTV at St Pancras Railway Station shortly before 1 pm today, Wednesday, 17 February.
