Authorities have made further progress in the investigation into the murder of Tom Ellis, 25, who was fatally stabbed outside the Ropewalk shopping centre on Queen’s Road. The incident occurred shortly before 21:30 BST on Saturday, June 8.
Two additional suspects, aged 16 and 15, were arrested overnight on suspicion of murder. Previously, two boys aged 14 and 15 had been taken into custody in connection with the same incident. All four suspects are from Nuneaton and remain in police custody.
Chief Inspector Kris Shore, the policing commander for North Warwickshire, emphasised the significant strides made in the investigation. “We have identified four suspects within 72 hours and brought them into custody,” Shore stated. “Several cordons are in place in Nuneaton as police searches continue.”
Authorities are urging key witnesses to come forward. Specifically, anyone who was in the vicinity of Queens Road between 9:15 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. on June 8 is asked to provide information.
“We continue to support Tom’s family and keep them updated with the latest developments,” Chief Inspector Shore added. “If you can help us identify additional witnesses, please contact us as soon as possible.”
Authorities urge anyone who witnessed the incident or has relevant information, especially those with access to CCTV or dashcam footage, to come forward. The incident is referred to as “Incident 318 of Saturday, June 8.”
