Efforts to combat the supply of Class A and B drugs in Medway have led to the arrests and charges of two men following a series of enforcement actions in Chatham and Strood.
Arrests and Seizures
On Monday, 18 November 2024, police detained a man on Chatham High Street and conducted a search, recovering seven bags of a synthetic drug known as ‘spice’, classified as a Class B drug. Investigators seized and analysed the substance.
Three days later, on Thursday, 21 November, officers executed search warrants at addresses in Chatham and Strood, leading to the discovery of cocaine, cannabis, and a mobile phone. Two men were arrested and taken into custody.
Charges Filed
Following the investigations:
- John Wray, 45, of Meadowbank Road, Chatham, was charged with possessing ‘spice’ with intent to supply.
- Wayne Albone, 37, of Albert Place, Strood, was charged with:
- Being concerned in the supply of cocaine
- Being concerned in the supply of cannabis
- Possessing cocaine with intent to supply
- Possessing cannabis with intent to supply
Both men appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 22 November, where they were remanded in custody. They are scheduled to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on 20 December.
