In a heart-wrenching incident from last year, charges have been laid in the case of a 3-year-old boy, Daniel Twigg, who tragically lost his life after being mauled by a dangerous dog. The attack occurred at an address on Tunshill Lane in Milnrow, near Rochdale, Lancashire.
On the afternoon of May 15, 2022, emergency services were dispatched to the scene after reports of the attack. Despite swift medical attention and transport to the hospital, Daniel succumbed to his injuries shortly after.
After an extensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding Daniel’s death, authorities have charged Mark Twigg, 42, and Joanne Bedford, 36. The pair, who reside together on King Street in Radcliffe, Greater Manchester, face allegations of gross negligence manslaughter. Both individuals were closely connected to the location where the tragedy unfolded, though the police have not extensively disclosed specific details about their relationship with Daniel and the dog involved.
The accused are due to appear before Manchester and Salford Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, July 31.
