Kent Police have seized over a tonne of cannabis in a major operation targeting organised crime networks, with two men now charged in connection with the find.
Officers stopped a Ford Transit van on Wrotham Road, Gravesend, on the afternoon of Wednesday, 13 November 2024, following reports of suspicious activity. Upon searching the van, they discovered 500 kilograms of packed cannabis.
Further inquiries led detectives to a property in Herne Hill, southeast London, later that day. Another 800 kilograms of cannabis was seized at the property. The total street value of the seized drugs is estimated to exceed £1 million.
Arrests and Charges
Two men were arrested at the scene and later charged with possession of cannabis with intent to supply:
Both appeared before Sevenoaks Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 15 November and were remanded in custody. They are due to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on a date yet to be confirmed.
