Tube Pervert Jailed for Sexua
A man who sexually assaulted two women on the London Underground has been jailed for more than two years after being convicted at Cardiff Crown Court.
Sentencing and Offences
Mansoor Ahmed, 30, was sentenced to 26 months in prison and will be required to sign the sex offenders register for 10 years. He pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual assault on Tuesday, 21 January.
The court heard that Ahmed targeted two women in separate incidents in 2020 at different Tube stations, leaving them traumatised.
First Attack: Gloucester Road Station
Ahmed’s first victim was attacked on 6 September 2020 at Gloucester Road Underground Station. As the woman was walking up the stairs, he sexually assaulted her. The woman’s screams startled him, causing him to flee the scene.
The brave victim reported the assault to the police the following day, prompting a public appeal for information. Ahmed was later identified and circulated as wanted for questioning.
Second Attack: Charing Cross Station
On 20 November 2020, Ahmed struck again—this time at Charing Cross Station. His second victim was descending the steps when he sexually assaulted her. The shocked woman immediately reported the attack to British Transport Police officers at the station.
Ahmed was detained and arrested at the scene, but later released under investigation.
Arrest and Trial
For months, police were unable to locate Ahmed, but on 27 May 2021, he was found on a ferry arriving at Holyhead from Ireland. He was promptly arrested and charged with two counts of sexual assault.
At Cardiff Crown Court, Ahmed pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 26 months in prison.
Police Statement
Detective Sergeant David Weatherhead, who led the investigation, condemned Ahmed’s actions, saying:
“Ahmed’s behaviour was absolutely disgusting, and there is zero tolerance for this on the rail network. I would like to thank the two victims for their courage in coming forward and reporting this offence.
