Nottinghamshire Police are investigating a tragic incident that occurred on Costock Avenue, Sherwood, earlier this evening.
At approximately 7:15 PM on Wednesday, 18 September 2024, East Midlands Ambulance Service was called to the scene after reports that an eight-year-old boy had fallen from a window of a house. Paramedics responded quickly, and the child was taken to Queens Medical Centre. Sadly, despite their efforts, the boy did not survive his injuries.
Police officers remain at the address as they investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Chief Inspector Jon Scurr expressed his condolences: “This is a tragic and devastating loss of life, and our thoughts are with the boy’s family and loved ones. I would like to thank those who have already come forward with information and urge anyone else with details to contact us as soon as possible.
He acknowledged the emotional impact of the incident on the community, adding, “We are acutely aware that incidents of this nature are incredibly distressing for all concerned and are felt by the entire community.
