In a devastating incident yesterday, two individuals lost their lives, and three others sustained injuries following a collision on Millfields Road in Ettingshall. The authorities were alerted to the scene at 3.37pm
Regrettably, two women aged 82 and 76 were found in critical condition and were pronounced dead at the site.
Emergency services transported three individuals from the same vehicle to the hospital for treatment. Currently, a 90-year-old man remains in a serious condition, while two men aged 79 and 78 are stable.
At the scene of the incident, a 51-year-old man from a separate vehicle was apprehended on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs. He has since been released pending further investigation.
Following necessary measures, Millfields Road has been reopened for public use.
Detective Sergeant Paul Hughes from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit expressed deep sorrow over the circumstances, extending sympathies to all the families affected. He emphasised the importance of piecing together the details of the incident to provide answers to those involved.
