Three people have tragically died following a collision between a car and a bus on Bedfont Road, Feltham, late on Monday night.
Emergency services were alerted to the incident at around 23:55 on Monday, 31 March, when officers from a response vehicle came across a car engulfed in flames at the scene. The vehicle had collided with a bus, resulting in a devastating fire.
Despite the swift response, three occupants of the car were pronounced dead at the scene. A fourth occupant was rushed to the hospital, and authorities are currently awaiting an update on their condition.
The bus also caught fire following the collision. Officers immediately assisted the bus driver and passengers to safety. Several passengers sustained injuries, and two were taken to the hospital. Fortunately, their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
London Fire Brigade and London Ambulance Service were present at the scene to assist with rescue and recovery efforts. Road closures remain in place around Bedfont Road as the investigation into the tragic incident continues.
Authorities are appealing to anyone with information that could assist in the investigation to come forward. Witnesses or those with relevant dashcam footage are urged to contact the police by calling 101 and quoting CAD 8411.
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said:
“We were called at 23:55 yesterday (31 March) to reports of a road traffic collision on Bedfont Road, Feltham.
“We sent resources to the scene, including ambulance crews, an advanced paramedic, an incident response officer, members of our hazardous area response team (HART) and London’s Air Ambulance.
“Our crews treated six people. Sadly, three people were declared dead at the scene. We took the other three patients to hospital.”
