A woman in her 80s has sadly died after a serious single-vehicle collision in Gosport this morning, Hampshire police have confirmed.
Emergency services were called to Grange Road just before 11.30am on Monday, 5 May, following reports that a Kia Picanto had crashed.
Despite the best efforts of medics, the woman — who was driving the vehicle — was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police Investigation Underway
A spokesperson for Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary said:
“We were called at 11.28am to reports of a single-vehicle collision on Grange Road, Gosport, involving a Kia Picanto.
The driver, a woman in her 80s, was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene.”
A road closure remains in place on Grange Road to allow officers to conduct a full investigation into the circumstances of the crash.
Witness Appeal Issued
Police are appealing for anyone with information or dashcam footage from the area around the time of the incident to come forward.
