A teenager has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after three people were injured in two separate but linked car incidents in Tower Hamlets on Friday night.
The 18-year-old suspect is currently in custody as police continue their investigation into what they describe as a “serious and deliberate act of violence.”
First Incident: Morpeth Street, E2
The first crash occurred on Morpeth Street, E2, at around 9.15pm on Friday, June 14. Emergency services rushed to the scene, where they found a man in his 20s who had been struck by a vehicle.
He was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police are also trying to trace a second victim from the same location whose condition remains unknown.
Second Incident: Eastfield Street, E14
A short time later, a second crash was reported on Eastfield Street, E14. A man in his 40s was treated at the scene by paramedics and then taken to hospital. His injuries were also non-life-threatening.
Police said the four occupants of the vehicle fled the scene on foot. One suspect—the 18-year-old—has since been arrested, but three others remain at large.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
The Metropolitan Police have confirmed that both incidents are linked and that a full investigation is underway.
“These are serious offences, and we are working urgently to establish what happened,” a spokesperson said. “We are asking anyone who may have seen either incident, or has relevant CCTV or dashcam footage, to come forward.”
