Emergency services launched a full-scale response this evening following reports of a person threatening to jump from Tower Bridge into the River Thames.
At just before 10pm , London Fire Brigade and specialist Fire Rescue Units were scrambled to “person threatening to jump into water” at Tower Bridge.
Coordinated Emergency Response Underway
It is understood that:
- Police are leading negotiations at the scene
- London Fire Brigade’s water and line rescue specialists are in position
- London Ambulance Service is standing by with medical assistance
No further details about the individual involved have been released at this stage.
Public Urged to Avoid Area
Traffic and pedestrian movement around Tower Bridge and Lower Thames Street is currently restricted while the operation continues.
Authorities are urging people to stay away from the area and not to share live footage or speculation online to protect the privacy and safety of those involved.
