Three men have been apprehended by law enforcement authorities after a significant cocaine haul, valued at an estimated €4.2 million, was seized during a joint operation conducted by gardaí and Revenue officials in Cork.
According to a statement released by the gardaí, the operation took place this morning and resulted in the recovery of approximately 60kg of cocaine. The operation was aimed at targeting individuals believed to be involved in organised crime activities.
As a result of the successful operation, two men in their 20s and another man in his 30s were arrested. The authorities have not disclosed the identities of the suspects or specific details surrounding their arrests.
The seized cocaine has a substantial street value, making it a significant blow to drug trafficking operations in the region. The collaboration between gardaí and Revenue officials highlights the ongoing efforts to combat drug-related crime and disrupt the activities of criminal networks involved in the illegal drug trade.
Following the arrests, the three men were taken into custody and are currently being held at undisclosed garda stations in the Cork area. The investigation is ongoing, and further details regarding the suspects and their alleged involvement in the drug trafficking operation are yet to be disclosed.
