Ten Year Old Boy dies after Furniture Incident at Topshop Reading

A 10-year-old boy has died after suffering severe head injuries in an incident involving a piece of furniture in a shop in Reading. The incident happened at the Topshop in the Oracle Centre this afternoon. Paramedics and Thames Valley Police were called to the scene shortly after 4pm. It is reported that the child was lying on the floor, and had suffered major head trauma. He was taken to the Royal Berkshire Hospital, but later died from his injuries. An investigation is underway into what happened. We were called by the South Central Ambulance Service at around 4.15pm this afternoon to a retail store at the Oracle shopping centre, Reading. On attendance they found that a 10-year-old boy had suffered serious head injuries after an incident involving store furniture. The boy was taken to the Royal Berkshire Hospital where sadly he was pronounced dead. His next of kin have been informed. At this time the death is being treated as unexplained but non-suspicious and police are making further inquiries. – Thames Valley Police spokesperson
