Thames Valley Police are appealing for witnesses following a grievous bodily harm (GBH) incident in Oxford that left a 15-year-old boy seriously injured.
The attack occurred at around 7:00pm on Tuesday, 25 March 2025 in Fry’s Hill Park, Blackbird Leys, when a group of 10 to 15 individuals approached four teenage boys who were riding through the park.
Two or three members of the group launched an unprovoked assault, stabbing one of the teens in the nose and assaulting another.
Victims and Injuries
- The 15-year-old victim suffered a stab wound to the nose and remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition.
- A 16-year-old boy was pulled from his bike and assaulted. Fortunately, he did not require hospital treatment.
The attackers are described as being in their late teens to early 20s, wearing dark clothing.
Police Statement and Appeal
Detective Constable Beth Liversidge, based at Oxford police station, said:
“I appreciate that incidents such as this will cause concern in our local community, but I would like to assure the public that we are investigating this incident thoroughly.
There will be an increase in patrols in the area in the coming days, and we urge those with concerns or information to speak to one of our officers.”
Call for Witnesses and Footage
Police are now appealing to anyone who was in the area around 7pm on the night of the attack and may have witnessed the incident, or who may have dashcam, CCTV, or mobile phone footage, to come forward.
