Teenager charged over Section 18 Assault in Reading

Thames Valley Police has charged a teenager in connection with an assault in Reading. A 17-year-old boy from Reading was charged on Monday (9/7) with one count of Section 18 – wounding with intent. The charge is in connection with an incident on Sunday (8/7) outside the Premier Store in Broad Street Mall during which the victim, a 26-year-old man, was punched in the head and knocked unconscious. The victim remains in hospital in a stable condition. The boy was remanded in custody following an appearance at Reading Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday (10/7) and is next due in Reading Crown Court on 13 August.
