Detectives investigating the tragic murder of a teenager in Hackney have taken a significant step forward in their inquiries with the arrest of a 17-year-old suspect.

The victim, also 17 years old, lost his life in a devastating stabbing incident that unfolded on Hackney Road near the junction with Cremer Street, E2, on Saturday, 17 February. Despite the swift response of officers and paramedics from the London Ambulance Service, the young victim succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The identity of the victim has not yet been formally disclosed, pending the outcome of a post-mortem examination scheduled to take place on Wednesday, 21 February, at Poplar Mortuary.
