A 17-year-old girl has been arrested after threatening emails were sent to multiple schools in the Gravesend area, prompting a police investigation.
Incident and Police Response
Shortly before 8 AM on Thursday, February 13, 2025, Kent Police received reports that a school in Northfleet had been sent a malicious communication during the early hours of the morning.
As more schools in Gravesham reported receiving similar emails, officers attended the scenes and provided guidance to staff members.
Investigation and Arrest
After launching an investigation, police determined the emails did not pose a credible threat. However, officers remained in the area to reassure the local community.
Later that day, a 17-year-old girl from Gravesend was arrested on suspicion of harassment. She remains in custody as enquiries continue.

Chief Inspector Will Lay addressed concerns, stating:

Our enquiries quickly identified that the email received was unlikely to contain a credible threat of harm.
Understandably, there has been considerable concern amongst the local community, while schools have faced significant disruption.
I hope it offers further reassurance to those in Gravesham that an arrest has been made and an investigation is ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the incident.”*
