A stolen taxi was found crashed into a tree near St. Lukes Avenue in Carluke. In what police believe to be a related incident, a black Mercedes EQB was reported stolen from Lanark Road, Carluke, in the early hours of Friday, 23 August. The second vehicle was later discovered abandoned in Hallhill Road, Barlanark, Glasgow.
Detective Sergeant Scott McNulty, who is leading the investigation, stated, “Enquiries are at an early stage to establish the full circumstances surrounding this robbery. We are appealing for any potential witnesses to get in touch.
Police are particularly interested in speaking with individuals who were waiting at a bus stop on Edinburgh Road at the time of the initial robbery, as CCTV footage indicates they may have witnessed the incident.
We would also urge anyone who may have seen a blue Skoda taxi or a black Mercedes EQB being driven erratically in the Carluke area in the early hours of Friday morning, or who may have dash-cam footage of significance, to please come forward,” added DS McNulty.
