Police are hunting for answers after a spooky encounter involving a young girl at england/england/england/tonbridge/”>tonbridge/”>tonbridge/”>Tonbridge Cemetery.
Girl Spots Men Running, Feels Grabbed
Just after 5pm on Monday 29 September 2025, a secondary school girl was walking her dog through Tonbridge Cemetery. Suddenly, three men came sprinting from an entrance by Welland Road in her direction. The girl says she felt someone possibly grab her arm.
Terrified, she bolted through the cemetery towards the Darenth Avenue exit and made it home safely. Her family reported the incident to kent-england/”>kent-england/”>kent-england/”>Kent Police.
Police Seek Witnesses and CCTV Footage
Detective Inspector Zara McAiney said:
“At this stage we have not identified any offences and there may be an entirely innocent explanation. However, we want to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time. We’re asking locals near the cemetery to check doorbell cameras or CCTV for footage showing the child or others arriving at or leaving the cemetery.”
Ice Cream Van Rumours Debunked
Rumours linked the incident to an ice cream Vanvan parked by the cemetery gates. DI McAiney confirmed:
“We’ve established the ice cream Vanvan is not linked in any Wayway.”
