A 26-year-old man from Faversham has been charged following a series of vehicle interference and shoplifting incidents in the town.
Incident Details
Kent Police were alerted to a string of thefts and disturbances beginning on Wednesday, March 5, 2025. It was reported that cars parked in the Lakeside Avenue area were targeted, with personal items allegedly stolen from one of the vehicles.
In a separate incident on Wednesday, March 26, bottles of alcohol were reportedly taken from a business premises in Market Place, during which a shop worker was assaulted.
Following investigations, officers arrested Billy Bird, 26, from Elverland Lane, Ospringe, on Friday, April 4.
On Sunday, April 6, Bird was charged with the following offences:
- Theft from a motor vehicle
- Vehicle interference
- Theft
- Assault
In addition, Bird faces charges related to three separate shoplifting incidents from supermarkets in Faversham between Tuesday, March 11, and Friday, April 4. The value of the stolen items is estimated to be around £650.
Court Appearance
Billy Bird is scheduled to appear before Thanet Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, May 13.
