A suspected burglar has been charged following a break-in at a property in Faversham, Kent. The incident took place in the Oare area in the early hours of Thursday, 27 March 2025.
According to Kent Police, a man allegedly entered a property in the Faversham Lakes area shortly before 3 am. During the break-in, a silver racing road bike was reportedly stolen, along with food and alcohol.
Suspicious Behaviour and Swift Response
Around the same time, police received a report of a man behaving suspiciously in the vicinity. Officers promptly attended the scene, carried out enquiries, and made an arrest on Sunday, 30 March.
The suspect, identified as Luke McLaren, 32, of Evers Road, Faversham, was subsequently charged with burglary, attempted burglary, and vehicle interference.
Court Appearance and Ongoing Investigation
McLaren appeared before Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 31 March, where he was remanded in custody. He is set to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 11 April.
The stolen bicycle remains missing, and police are appealing for information. Anyone who may have seen the bike or has relevant details is urged to contact Kent Police on 01795 419119, quoting reference 46/51212/25.
