Suspect Charged with Murder of Tunbridge Wells Man
A suspect has been charged with the murder of Wayne Woodgate, a 54-year-old man from Tunbridge Wells who was reported missing last week. Woodgate was last seen in the Goods Station Road area of the town on Thursday, October 17, 2024.
The investigation into his disappearance led officers to a rural area in Peasmarsh, East Sussex, on Wednesday, October 23, where a body was discovered and later identified as Mr. Woodgate.
Stephen Castle, 59, of Hastings Road, Matfield, was arrested on Tuesday, October 22. He was charged with murder on the evening of Thursday, October 24, and has been remanded in custody. Castle is scheduled to appear before Sevenoaks Magistrates’ Court today, Friday, October 25.
Authorities are urging anyone with information related to the case to contact the police as the investigation continues.
