A man has been charged in connection with a robbery and violent assault in Dartford that left a victim with stab injuries.
Kent Police were called shortly before 5.45am on Sunday, 9 March 2025, following reports that a man had been attacked in Cotton Lane. The victim was found by two off-duty police officers and told them he had been assaulted by a passenger in his van.
According to the victim, he was driving with another man as a passenger when the suspect allegedly made demands before launching a violent attack. The suspect is said to have fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle, leaving him injured and without his mobile phone.
Emergency services attended the scene, and the victim was taken to a London hospital for treatment. He has since been discharged.
Following an investigation, officers arrested a man in James Road, Sevenoaks, on Tuesday 11 March.
Michael O’Callaghan, 26, of Albert Place, Rochester, was subsequently charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent, robbery, and possession of a bladed article.
He appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 13 March and has been remanded in custody. He is due to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on Monday 14 April.
Additionally, a woman was arrested in Sundridge, Sevenoaks, on suspicion of assisting an offender. She has since been bailed pending further enquiries.
Kent Police say investigations remain ongoing.
