In a shocking development in the small town of Strood, a 42-year-old woman has been charged with the murder of a man in his 60s. The incident occurred inside a residence on Gun Lane and was reported to authorities at 12:30 AM on Friday, 26 July.
Nina Mercer, the suspect, who resided at the same address on Gun Lane where the victim was found, was arrested by Kent Police several hours after the discovery of the body, at around 4 AM the same day. On Monday, 29 July, Mercer was formally charged with murder and is scheduled for a court appearance later today at Medway Magistrates’ Court.
