Steve Wright, a 66-year-old man, has been charged with the kidnap and murder of Victoria Hall, who disappeared in September 1999. Wright is also accused of an attempted kidnapping of another woman during the same period.
Victoria Hall, a young woman, vanished while on her way home from a nightclub. Her disappearance remained a mystery for over two decades until recent developments led to the arrest of Steve Wright.
Frank Ferguson, Chief Crown Prosecutor for the Crown Prosecution Service in the East of England, announced that Suffolk Police have authorised the charges against Wright. He is set to appear at Ipswich Magistrates’ Court on June 3.
Ferguson emphasised that these are active criminal proceedings, and Wright has the right to a fair trial. He urged the public and media to refrain from sharing information online that could potentially prejudice the case.
