Panic broke out at a high-rise condominium in Pattaya, Thailand, after a fire erupted on the 19th floor on Wednesday evening, 7 May 2025.
Emergency services raced to the condo on Soi Chaiyapruek 3 after the blaze was reported at 8:06 p.m. to the Pattaya City Disaster Relief Center. Police Lieutenant Colonel Phuttharak Sonkhamhan led the urgent response alongside disaster relief personnel.
The fire originated in Room 1911 of the 29-story building, sending thick smoke across the structure and forcing a swift evacuation of residents and tourists. Eyewitnesses described chaotic scenes as alarms sounded and people scrambled for safety.
Firefighters deployed water and chemical agents, successfully bringing the fire under control. Initial investigations suggest the blaze was caused by an electrical short circuit linked to a malfunctioning air conditioner compressor.
The room’s occupant, a foreign tourist, had left the air conditioning running while stepping out on errands. Fortunately, no injuries or fatalities were reported.
Police documented the scene and are continuing to investigate the exact cause.
