Six years have elapsed since the tragic murder of Sami Sidhom, leaving his family still seeking answers about why he was killed and who was responsible.
Sami Sidhom, only 18 years old at the time, was fatally stabbed just before 11pm on April 16, 2018, as he walked along Chestnut Avenue in Newham. He was returning home after watching a football match between West Ham United and Stoke City at the London Stadium in Stratford.
After alighting from a bus at Romford Road, Sami proceeded on foot, walking along Sebert Road, Cranmer Road, and Capel Road before crossing into Chestnut Avenue. CCTV footage captured a silver car approaching the end of Chestnut Avenue, followed by three men chasing Sami back into the street, trailed by the same silver car.
Despite extensive investigations and ten arrests since 2018, no one has been charged in connection with Sami’s murder. Detective Chief Inspector Mark Rogers, leading the investigation, hopes that the passage of time may encourage someone with vital information to come forward.
A reward of up to £20,000 is being offered by the police for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for Sami’s murder.
DCI Rogers emphasized the importance of any information, stating, “Your information could bring relief to Sami’s family who have suffered years of grief since his death.
Sami’s father, Samer Sidhom, made a heartfelt plea for information, saying, “My son’s life was taken away for no reason whatsoever… If you’re out there, and you know who these people are, I plead with you to do the right thing.”
