A 42-year-old man who groomed and sexually abused young teenage girls has been sentenced to 12 years and nine months in prison following a major investigation by Kent Police.
Bradley Kite, of Lydbrook Close, Sittingbourne, was found to have manipulated his victims through gifts, money, and emotional coercion, posing as a boyfriend to one of the girls while carrying out repeated sexual abuse.
He pleaded guilty to 13 serious sexual offences at Maidstone Crown Court, including:
- Multiple counts of sexual activity with a child
- Sexual assaults of a child
- Engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child
- Causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity
Kite was also found guilty by jury of a further count of sexual assault that he had denied.
Lavish Gifts Used to Groom Victims
During the abuse, Kite gave his victims expensive presents, took them shopping, and used emotional manipulation to gain their trust. One girl was led to believe she was in a romantic relationship with him, receiving sexualised messages, cash, and jewellery in return.
The abuse came to light in June 2024, after one of the victims confided in a family member, triggering a police investigation. Specialist detectives from Kent Police’s child protection teams worked to identify further victims, leading to Kite’s arrest on 27 June 2024.
Sentencing and Long-Term Restrictions
On Wednesday, 6 August 2025, Kite was sentenced to:
- 12 years and 9 months in custody
- To serve at least two-thirds of the sentence before release
- An additional 5 years on licence following release
- A 25-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) to restrict contact with minors and access to devices
Police Statement
“Kite is a dangerous offender who preyed on the vulnerability of young teenage girls,” said Detective Constable Daniel Alai.
“He manipulated and abused them for his own gratification. I’m pleased that he has received a lengthy sentence and that the SHPO will help protect potential future victims.”
“The courage of the girls in this case should be commended,” he added. “These crimes have had a lasting impact on them and their families. We will always listen sensitively to victims and bring offenders like Kite to justice.”
