Residents near Shellness Road in Leysdown-on-Sea, Sheerness are being urged to keep windows and doors closed after a wildfire broke out in a nearby field.
Kent Fire and Rescue Service (KFRS) confirmed the incident at 7:36pm on Thursday 29 May 2025, deploying four fire engines to tackle the blaze, which involves grassland that has caught alight under dry conditions.
Emergency crews remain at the scene working to control the fire and reduce smoke exposure in the surrounding area.
