A convicted sex offender has been sentenced to seven years in prison after being found guilty of sexually abusing a vulnerable teenager in Maidstone, Kent.
Ryan Perrins, 35, of Heathorn Street, Maidstone, was sentenced at Maidstone Crown Court on June 6, 2025, after being convicted of multiple offences including sexual activity with a child, assault, and drug possession.
Kent Police launched an investigation after it emerged that Perrins had engaged in a pattern of predatory behaviour between March and October 2023, during which he supplied the girl with cannabis in exchange for sexual acts.
Escalating Violence and Coercion
According to police reports, Perrins’ actions became increasingly aggressive. He was described as controlling and violent, at one point slamming the victim’s head against a van and harassing her with dozens of calls when she tried to distance herself from him.
He was arrested on January 31, 2024, and initially charged with drug and assault offences. Further evidence led to four additional charges of sexual activity with a child.
Despite pleading guilty to the assault and drug charges, Perrins denied the sexual offences. However, a jury found him guilty on all counts following a detailed trial.
Police Praise Victim’s Bravery
Detective Constable Katy Saunders, of Kent Police, praised the victim’s courage:
“Perrins committed vile and coercive acts against a vulnerable girl, treating her as though she was his property. His violence and manipulation caused immense harm, and it is only through the bravery of the victim that we have been able to bring him to justice.”
Perrins was also issued a 10-year restraining order preventing any future contact with the victim.
