The London Fire Brigade responded to a significant fire in Primrose Hill today, May 4, prompting a rapid deployment of resources to contain the blaze. Fire crews were alerted to the incident at 9:31 am, rushing to Elsworthy Road in Primrose Hill to combat the fire.
Ten fire engines and approximately 70 firefighters were mobilized to tackle the blaze, which affected half of the second floor of a three-story detached house. The intensity of the fire required the use of specialized equipment, including a 32-meter ladder, to effectively combat the flames. Additionally, the brigade utilised drone technology to monitor the incident from an aerial perspective.
The fire raged for a daunting 90 minutes before firefighters managed to bring it under control by 11:05 am. Teams from West Hampstead, Paddington, Kentish Town, and surrounding fire stations collaborated to extinguish the flames and prevent further escalation.
Despite the efforts of emergency responders, the cause of the fire remains under investigation by the London Fire Brigade’s Fire Investigation team. Initial assessments suggest a rigorous inquiry will be conducted to ascertain the origins and circumstances surrounding the blaze.
