A 15-year-old boy has been arrested and charged after a knifepoint robbery in Seven Kings, Redbridge, police have confirmed.
Officers responded swiftly to reports of a robbery involving a young boy and successfully located a suspect aboard a bus in the area. Upon arrest, officers recovered a hunting knife and retrieved the victim’s stolen phone.
The teenager has since been charged with robbery and possession of an offensive weapon. Authorities have highlighted the seriousness of the incident, emphasizing the dangers posed by young people carrying weapons.
In a public message, Met Police Officers urged parents, carers, and guardians to remain vigilant and engaged with their teenagers to help prevent such incidents:
“A 15-year-old carrying a hunting knife and robbing other boys — parents, carers, guardians, what are you doing to keep your teenagers in check? We have to work together to keep everyone safe!”
Police continue their proactive work in tackling knife crime across Redbridge, but are calling on the community to play an active role in supporting prevention efforts.
