Authorities have charged seven individuals in connection with a violent incident that occurred last month on Rogers Road. Three men were targeted in the attack, which took place around midnight on June 6.
The Incident
The victims were sitting in a vehicle when occupants of three other vehicles assaulted them. Two of the victims, aged 19 and 21, sustained stab and slash wounds but managed to escape. A third victim, a 20-year-old, was kidnapped and brutally assaulted with weapons, resulting in serious injuries. Fortunately, all three victims are expected to make a full recovery.
Burglary on Chipperfield Road
In addition to the attack, a house on Chipperfield Road was broken into by armed men who stole items from the property.
Investigation and Charges
Following an intensive investigation, authorities arrested and charged seven suspects over the past ten days. The accused individuals are as follows:
- Ghazanfar Muhammed (19 years old) of Towcester Croft, Bromford
- Haashim Hussain (19 years old) of Peplow Road, Lea Hall
- Umar Khan (20 years old) of Station Street, Handsworth
- A 17-year-old, whose name cannot be disclosed due to legal restrictions
- Adil Ahmed (19 years old) of Ludlow Road, Birmingham
- Lisa Sullivan (38 years old) of Crompton Road, Lozells
- Safyaan Baga (20 years old, no fixed address)
The charges include kidnap, three counts of causing grievous bodily harm with intent, and aggravated burglary. The accused appeared before Birmingham Magistrates Court on June 20 and were remanded in custody. They are scheduled to appear at Birmingham Crown Court on July 18.
Adil Ahmed faces additional charges of false imprisonment. He appeared before magistrates on June 24 and was also remanded in custody for the same court date.
Lisa Sullivan, charged with assisting offenders, has been bailed to appear at Crown Court on July 18.
Safyaan Baga, who faces charges of kidnap, grievous bodily harm, and aggravated burglary, appeared at Birmingham Magistrates Court on June 29 and was remanded for the Crown Court hearing on July 18.
Authorities continue to investigate the motive behind the attack and the circumstances surrounding the burglary.
