Authorities are calling for witnesses following a severe traffic collision involving multiple vehicles near the Dartford Crossing. The incident occurred around 4 PM on Wednesday, 24 July 2024, on the A282 heading into Kent, just before junction 1a.
The vehicles involved were a white VW Crafter van, an orange Volvo lorry, and a white Peugeot Boxer van. The crash resulted in serious injuries for a female passenger in the VW Crafter van, who has since been transported to a London hospital for further treatment.
Kent Fire and Rescue Service, South East Coast Ambulance Service, and police patrols responded to the scene of the collision. The area was secured for emergency services to manage the situation and to facilitate an initial investigation.
Roads policing officers from Kent Police are now spearheading an in-depth investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident. They are particularly interested in speaking with anyone who was travelling in the area at the time of the collision, either direction, and might have witnessed the events or possess dashcam footage that could shed light on the sequence of events leading to the accident.
