Deputy Nursing Director Hits Pedestrian in Silver Jaguar

Dr Maxmiller Buyanga, 59, a senior nurse from Swindon, has been slammed with a driving ban after a serious collision left a pedestrian fighting for her life. On Sunday, 13 July 2025, Buyanga, then Deputy Divisional Director of Nursing at Great Western Hospital, was behind the wheel of a silver Jaguar I-PACE on Kennedy Drive, Eldene, when she struck a 45-year-old woman.

Shocking Scene Leaves Victim Pinned Between Cars

The victim was caught between Buyanga’s Jaguar and a parked Volkswagen Golf outside the SR Motor Group showroom. The crash severely damaged the Golf’s bonnet and caused devastating injuries to the pedestrian, described by police as potentially life-changing.

Emergency crews and the Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance rushed to the scene. The injured woman was swiftly airlifted to Southmead Hospital’s Major Trauma Centre in Bristol for urgent treatment.

Court Sentence: Driving Ban, Fine, and Costs

Facing justice at Swindon Magistrates’ Court on 24 March 2026, Buyanga pleaded guilty to causing serious injury by careless driving. She was handed a 12-month driving ban, fined £2,031, and ordered to pay prosecution costs of £85 plus a victim surcharge of £812.

Buyanga, who lives locally in Bowleymead, Eldene, now faces the consequences of that devastating day on the roads.
