A 60-year-old man from Trowbridge has been locked up for nearly 14 years after admitting to sexually abusing a girl under 13.
Monstrous Crimes Land Man Behind Bars
Stephen Hudd faced Salisbury Crown Court on 13 March and was sentenced to 13 years and 9 months in prison for multiple horrific offences against a child.
- Three counts of sexual assault on a child under 13
- Three counts of causing a child to engage in sexual activity
- Three counts of assault by penetration
Hudd must serve at least 12 years and 9 months before being eligible for release. He will spend an additional year on licence and is now on the Sex Offenders Register — banning him from working with children unsupervised.
Victim’s Mother Speaks Out
“Although my daughter is the victim, this trauma has ripped our whole family apart. It’s devastated every part of our lives,” said the girl’s mother in a heart-wrenching court statement. “He’s stolen her innocence, her trust in men, and changed how she views the world forever.”
Police Praise Survivor’s Bravery
DC Danielle Swanborough said: “Hudd’s selfish, predatory behaviour has destroyed the life of his victim and impacted those around her. We commend the bravery shown by the survivor and her family during this investigation. He will serve a significant prison sentence.”
