Detectives in Walthamstow have taken a significant step forward in the investigation of a shooting incident that left a man seriously injured. On Friday, September 15, Anthony Diamond Brown, a 22-year-old individual with no fixed address, was formally charged in connection with the incident that occurred on June 17. Brown faces charges of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life and possession of ammunition with intent to endanger life.
Brown has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear at Thames Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, September 16. This development follows the previous arrest and charges brought against Desharn Felix, a 21-year-old also without a fixed address. Felix was charged with similar offences, including possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, possession of ammunition with intent to endanger life, and possession of cannabis. He appeared in custody at Thames Magistrates’ Court on July 7 and is set to make his next appearance at Snaresbrook Crown Court on January 22, 2024.
The investigation into the incident began when police responded to a call at 22:44hrs on June 17, reporting a firearms discharge on Blackhorse Lane, E17. London Ambulance Service personnel also attended the scene, where they found a 22-year-old man who had sustained a gunshot wound.
The victim was rushed to the hospital in a critical condition. Fortunately, his injuries were later assessed as not life-threatening, and he was discharged after receiving medical treatment.
