A 12-year-old schoolboy is in critical condition this evening after being involved in a serious collision with a £30,000 BMW 218. The incident occurred around 7pm on Monday evening 31st March 2025 on the High Road in Tottenham, leaving the teenager fighting for his life.
It is understood that the boy was riding a lime bicycle at the time of the collision.
Witnesses at the scene reported that the impact was so severe that the boy smashed into the windscreen and struck the A-pillar of the brand-new high performance car.
Emergency services, including paramedics and officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, were dispatched to the scene immediately.
The boy was treated at the scene before being rushed to the major trauma centre hospital, where his condition remains in a critical.
Forensic crime scene investigators from the Serious Road Traffic Collision Department based at Met Police Alperton Traffic Garage (TDQ) have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The area has been cordoned off while specialists examine the crash site and gather evidence.
A source for the police stated, “We are currently investigating the collision and are appealing for any witnesses who may have seen the incident or have dashcam footage to come forward. Our priority is to determine the exact sequence of events leading up to the collision.”
Underground travellers exiting the station at Seven sister have expressed shock at the incident, describing the scene as chaotic, with emergency crews working tirelessly to stabilise the injured teenager. The driver of the BMW is assisting police with their inquiries. It is unconfirmed if he has been arrested for any offences

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said:
“Officers responded to reports of a collision involving a car and a cyclist on the junction between High Road and Broad Lane, Tottenham at 18:53hrs on Monday, 31 March.
The cyclist, a 12-year-old boy, was treated at the scene for injuries and later taken to hospital by the London Ambulance Service. He remains there for treatment and we await an update on his injuries and condition.
“An investigation is underway and no arrests have been made at this stage.”
