A 37-year-old man from Salisbury has been found guilty of multiple serious offences against two women, including assault by penetration, indecent exposure, and intentional strangulation.
Cameron Mackay, of Rougemont Close, appeared at Portsmouth Crown Court last week where a jury unanimously found him guilty of all charges. He has been remanded in custody and will be sentenced at Salisbury Crown Court on 14 November 2025.
The Incidents
- April 2022:
One victim, a woman in her 40s, was invited to Mackay’s home via a mutual friend. After being plied with alcohol, she fell asleep and awoke to being sexually assaulted. - February 2023:
A second victim, a woman in her 30s, met Mackay while he was walking his dog. After being invited into his home, he exposed himself, then physically assaulted and strangled her when she tried to leave.
She was able to fight back and escape.
Both incidents were reported to Wiltshire Police in June 2023, prompting an investigation by detectives from South CID.
Police Comment
Detective Constable Dan Smith said:
"Mackay is a dangerous individual who has now been found guilty by his peers of a number of offences against women.
I would like to commend the courage of the victims for coming forward and for giving evidence in court.
We will always listen to victims, and we are committed to bringing sexual predators to justice."
