A safety alert has been issued following multiple reports of indecent exposure by a male jogger along the Thames Path, prompting growing concern among members of the public and renewed calls for vigilance.
According to witnesses, the white male, estimated to be around 6ft tall with grey hair, has been spotted wearing all-black running gear and a black water pack strapped to his chest and back. Notably, he is described as wearing very short shorts, which reportedly expose his genitals as he passes female runners and walkers.
The incidents are believed to be intentional, with witnesses stating the man has glanced back at women after passing them, suggesting the exposure is deliberate.
Incidents Reported on Two Occasions
The first incident was reported on December 31, 2024, and a second occurred again today, Saturday, March 15, at 10:01am on a busy stretch of the Thames Path. The route was reportedly well-populated with other pedestrians at the time, making the behaviour even more concerning.
Police Notified — Public Urged to Stay Alert
The incidents have been reported to police, who are said to be aware and investigating. However, local residents and regular users of the Thames Path are now being urged to remain vigilant and report any sightings.
A concerned member of the community stated:
“We want to ensure women feel safe and that this individual is caught before this behaviour escalates. Please keep an eye out, and if you see him, try to take a photo to pass on to the police.”
How to Report
Anyone who sees the individual or has further information is encouraged to:
- Call 101 and report the incident to Metropolitan Police
- In an emergency or if a crime is in progress, dial 999 immediately
- If safe to do so, capture a photo or video for evidence, which may assist police enquiries
Police are also urging anyone who may have witnessed similar behaviour—whether or not they initially realised it was indecent exposure—to come forward.
Community Reminder
This incident serves as a reminder to the public to report all instances of indecent or suspicious behaviour, no matter how minor they may seem. Police emphasise that such behaviour is a criminal offence and must be taken seriously to protect community safety.
