A Russian man is in critical condition after being brutally stabbed in Pattaya, with another Russian national now in police custody over the attack.
The incident unfolded around 6:00 PM on Saturday, April 26th, near a condominium in Soi 4, Pattaya. Pattaya City Police rushed to the scene after reports of a violent altercation involving foreign nationals.
Upon arrival, officers found Mr. Romanov (surname withheld by police), a Russian citizen, severely injured and bleeding profusely from a deep stab wound to his neck. Authorities confirmed that a major artery had been severed, leaving Mr. Romanov in critical condition. Emergency responders provided immediate first aid before transporting him to Pattaya City Hospital, where he remains under urgent medical care.
Following an intense manhunt, police apprehended the suspect, identified only as Mr. Denis (surname also withheld), a 43-year-old Russian national. He was arrested around 11:00 PM the same evening, not far from the crime scene in Soi 4 Pratumnak. Officers reported that Denis was heavily intoxicated, incoherent, and lingering suspiciously near the area, drawing the attention of a concerned citizen who alerted authorities.
Denis was immediately taken into custody and is now facing serious legal action.
The motive behind the stabbing remains unclear, and police investigations are ongoing.
