A Romford man has been jailed for seven months after threatening to kill a woman in a domestic incident that took place earlier this year.
Christopher Keeble, 47, of Lower Bedfords Road, appeared before Barkingside Magistrates’ Court on February 19, three days after the offence, where he pleaded guilty to making threats to kill and criminal damage.
Court documents revealed that the threats were made in a domestic setting and in the presence of a child, raising further concerns about the seriousness of the incident.
Keeble also admitted to damaging the woman’s door during the same incident, which occurred on February 16.
Court Deems Prison Sentence Necessary
Keeble was sentenced on Monday, March 17, at the same court. Magistrates said that due to the severity of the offence, only a custodial sentence could be justified.
In addition to the prison term, the court issued a four-year restraining order, prohibiting Keeble from having any contact with the victim.
A spokesperson for the court said:
"This was a serious case involving threats to life in a domestic context. The sentence reflects the gravity of the offence and the need to protect the victim and others involved."
