The London-bound carriageway of the A2 remains closed this morning after a violent road rage incident resulted in two men being assaulted.
Kent Police were called to the scene at 5:41 AM on Saturday, December 14, 2024, following reports of an altercation stemming from an earlier traffic incident.
Serious Injuries Reported
One man has been transported to a London hospital with serious injuries, while another was taken to a local hospital for treatment. The extent of the second man’s injuries has not yet been disclosed.
Emergency Services at the Scene
Officers are working alongside colleagues from the South East Coast Ambulance Service, and the affected section of the A2, between the A2050 and A28 near Canterbury, remains closed.
Motorists are advised to seek alternative routes as investigations continue, and significant delays are expected in the area.
Police Investigation Ongoing
Kent Police confirmed that officers are at the scene and inquiries are ongoing. A spokesperson for the force said:
“We are investigating reports of an assault involving two men following a traffic incident. We urge anyone who witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage from the area at the time to contact us immediately.”
