The Princess of Wales has shared that she has successfully completed a course of preventive chemotherapy after pre-cancerous cells were detected earlier this year.
In an intimate message released to the public, the princess expressed her relief and gratitude at having completed the treatment, describing the last nine months as an incredibly difficult time for her and her family.
The discovery of pre-cancerous cells led to abdominal surgery in March, followed by precautionary chemotherapy sessions. Speaking about the experience, the princess reflected on how quickly life can change and how her family has had to navigate through uncertainty.
She noted that the ordeal has encouraged both her and Prince William to reflect on and appreciate the important things in life. “It’s made us reflect and be grateful for the simple yet important things in life that we often take for granted,” the princess shared, adding that the focus now is to stay cancer-free.
The Princess of Wales concluded by stating that her priority moving forward is to maintain her health, and she remains optimistic about the future with her family.
