Police Release Image of Suspect Following Brutal Assault
British Transport Police (BTP) have released a CCTV image of a man they want to identify following a violent incident at Bank Underground station. The attack occurred on January 18, 2025, around 12:20 pm.
The incident began when the victim stepped onto the escalator leading to the Cannon Street exit. An unidentified man allegedly cut him off, sparking an argument. Witnesses reported that the confrontation quickly escalated, with the suspect punching the victim in the face before throwing him down the escalator.
To make matters worse, the attacker then followed the victim down the escalator and continued to kick him multiple times.
Police Appeal for Information
Investigators are urging the public to help identify the man shown in the CCTV image. They believe he may have crucial information that could assist with the ongoing investigation.
A BTP spokesperson stated:
“This was a brutal and unprovoked attack in a busy part of the station. We believe the man pictured can help us with our inquiries, and we urge anyone who recognises him to come forward.”
