British Transport Police (BTP) have launched an appeal to identify four witnesses in connection with a stabbing incident at Beckenham Junction train station. CCTV images have been released showing four passengers travelling on a train, and authorities are urging them to come forward with any information they may have.
The stabbing incident occurred on March 27, leading to the arrest of Rakeem Thomas, 19, who has since been charged with attempted murder and possession of an offensive weapon.
Detective Sergeant Marc Farmer, the investigating officer, emphasized that the individuals captured in the CCTV footage are not suspected of any criminal activity but may possess vital information crucial to the ongoing investigation.
We are releasing these images of four people thought to be witnesses in an attempted murder investigation,” stated Detective Sergeant Farmer. I would like to stress these people are not suspected of any criminal activity, but they may have important information that will help our investigation.
Authorities are urging anyone who recognizes the individuals in the images or is one of the witnesses themselves to come forward. They can do so by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference number 397 of March 27.
Alternatively, individuals can report anonymously by contacting the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
